I think these foam plugs isolate slightly better than the triple flanged silicone tips of my Etymotic ER2XR (you can still talk to someone with both in, though), and these are more comfortable, though with my Etymotics you can play your own music on them (with quite nice tuning and decent technicalities) to hide even more, if not all, outside noise, though at that point Id move to a quieter neighborhood.
