There is a little bit of noise that you can hear outside the headphone however people nearby you really will not notice it. I purchased these less than a month ago, and the ears are already falling off of a slipper. There are two rival philosophies for dealing with noise: leave it as "grain" or smooth it out. The rope/webbing design is beautiful, but it is extremely flimsy. When ordering, try one size above your size. The best example are the slits just below the ear piece wraps--these are only visible when you view the actual product (see my pics). We had another bluetooth speaker that is waterproof, but doesnt deliver the best sound as this one. Jars are like the ones from Trader Joe?s!
