They come with Navy and white laces, but I kept the navy in. Still a Bose customer though, but moved on to wireless ones. I did not screw into any studs, just made sure the anchors were in place and screwed the pegs into the anchors. The earphones are perfect for active use. Only complaint - straps to adjust are flimsy and hard to adjust. Really Stupid that the locks are a separate cost though as this is not a cheap carrier.
