Phone calls sound okay on my side and as long as I?m not in too noisy of an environment people tell me they hear me okay. Initially Apple was very responsive and promised to overnight me a new one. You then attach the anchor to the wall with screws. We use them for heavy duty big bathroom towels in our apartment.
