When it happened with more than one set of headphones I assumed it was the cables. it would be broken becuase these are only plastic so only use these if you need it not so you can just play with it. I ended up buying more as they work great to store other things like my daughters art stuff (brushes, paint, crayons, color pencils etc. Something similar happens with flash.
