Im glad I stuck with the 7 and kept them, because theyre one of my favorite pairs. Not horribly sturdy but it holds dog leashes and my wifes grocery bags just fine. My $50 Logitech wireless headset, at least, displays on screen whether Im muted or not. It does not produce sibilance in my experience but will definitely reproduce any sibilance present in the original mix.
